About us
OUR HISTORY
It all began with our sister brand SanJuanSurf in Nicaragua. We opened a surf shop and coffee bar in San Juan del Sur and sold our own line of ethical apparel, all made in Nicaragua, using only the finest fabrics from Guatemala. For over a decade we have inspired travellers & surfers with our products & events.
The birth of We Are Roam in 2018 is the culmination of our passion for Travel, Surf, Adventure, 4x4 vehicles and the great outdoors as well as our desire to focus on International expansion. We opened our first Flagship Store on the Caribbean coast of Costa Rica in 2019 and have opened our second store & photo gallery in San Juan del Sur, Nicaragua in 2020.

OUR MISSION
We strive to make cool, functional products that are suitable for your next overland trip as well as your next venture into the urban jungle. Our mission is to spread the passion for adventure. Whether you walk into a House of Roam or order online, we represent the nomad movement and all people who share a passion for the outdoors.
OUR PRODUCTS
Ethical & Sustainable Production is hard to achieve & guarantee for a young brand with a limited budget, such as us, but we fully believe that our actions have to reflect our brand values and transparency is key! We consciously choose our suppliers based on key criteria that have to be met. Luckily we have been working with the same awesome supplier on the Apparel side for over 10 years through our sister brand Sanjuansurf and selectively source only the best upcycled fabrics from factory leftovers which are then made into the cool threads, people have grown to love, at a small factory in Nicaragua.
Our suppliers and fulfilment centres for our online store have taken the following measures to make production more sustainable:
Products made to order
Every purchase, big or small, has a footprint. With each purchase, you have a choice. You choose the size of the mark to leave on the planet, and we want to help you choose wisely.
Around 85% of all textiles produced by the fashion industry end up in landfills, making it a major contributor to environmental damage. One in every five garments reaches a landfill without being worn even once. By choosing print-on-demand, you choose apparel that's created only as the order is placed, creating less fabric waste than conventional manufacturing
Reliable quality
The better the quality, the longer the product lasts. Before we add new products, we do durability, wash, and wear tests to make sure they’ll stand the test of time. Producing long-lasting products means reducing new purchases & waste.
Efficient and mindful printing
For our DTG prints, we use Kornit machines and inks. Kornit uses high-quality, water-based vegan inks that they formulate, test, and produce in their own factories. Kornit inks are non-hazardous, toxin-free, biodegradable, and certified with an OEKO-TEX Eco Passport.
We print our posters with Epson inks that are certified by GreenGuard. For our all-over print products we use Mimaki printers—their inks are also certified with the OEKO-TEX Eco Passport.
